“The image arrived” is a useful first check, but it is not a complete acceptance test. A usable clinical workflow also depends on identity, timing, metadata, routing, priors, exception handling, and what each system does after receipt.
Test the complete workflow
Define the starting state, the operator or system action, what should appear in each participating system, and what evidence will record success. Include common paths, edge cases, failure recovery, corrections, and the downstream result of each message.
Record exceptions
If a scenario cannot be run or produces a conditional result, record the reason, risk, owner, and decision. The acceptance record should support project decisions rather than serve as a collection of checked boxes.
